About Michelle

I love words. Having worked as a professional writer and content manager for 13 years, I am currently pursuing a PhD in Technical Communication and Rhetoric. My scholarly interests focus on the assessment of writing and visual content, grading contracts, usability, user advocacy, workplace narratives, and professional development for technical communicators in industry.

In my professional life, I have been a writer and editor for 13 years, managed teams of creatives and developers for four years, and taught writing at the college level for two years. I regularly consult with companies developing web content and information architectures and love conducting training in writing and usability. I have specific training in search engine optimization (SEO), user experience, and process management.

The content we put into the world reflects who we are, what our businesses are about, and what we want for our society. My goal in every project is to help clients and budding writers accurately communicate what they intend to the people who need the information most.
